Save the Date: 100 Years of Cars in Central Park

On November 13th 1899, the first official permit was issued to operate a car on
Central Park's loop drive. Since then, cars have had their run of the place, contrary to the intention of the park's creators, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux.

Join T.A.'s Car-Free Central Park Committee on November 13th 1999, at 11am, on the Loop Drive across from Tavern on the Green, as we call for an end to the century- long intrusion of cars into America's greatest urban park.
