Are
you ready to rally?
You've already signed
up to attend the Rally for a Car-Free Central Park on Tuesday evening,
October 26th,
from 7 to 8:30 pm inside the Universalist Church (a.k.a.
   Landmark on the Park,
160 Central Park West at 76th Street).
Be there
at 7 pm sharp to make sure that you get a seat.
Make your voice
heard! At the rally you'll be joined by hundreds of citizen
supporters, dozens of elected officials, public health professionals and
members of the media.
At the rally you'll
see:
-
A powerful new
documentary film, "The Case for a Car-Free Central Park,"
featuring anti-injury, asthma and obesity experts, other notable New
Yorkers and a diverse array of park users
- Riveting speeches from
supportive elected officials, leading authors, heath advocates and park
users who believe that New York City has much to gain and little to lose
by closing Central Park’s loop drive to motorized vehicles
- The results of a
new study that shows closing Central Park's loop drive will have a
negligible traffic impact on the streets surrounding the park while
vastly improving the health of all New Yorkers
-
The presentation of
75,000 petition signatures to leading park officials and elected
representatives
Let's show Mayor
Bloomberg that New Yorkers want more pollution-, noise- and hazard-free
park space!
