A New Vision for Queens Boulevard

A sign at the corner of Queens Boulevard and Grand Avenue says, “A Pedestrian Was Killed Crossing Here.” In fact, so many people have been killed and injured on the 12-lane thoroughfare that it has come to be known as the “Boulevard of Death.” The new vision for this major roadway — as portrayed in these renderings by John Massengale & Co LLC and UrbanAdvantage — is a boulevard teeming with life, including wider sidewalks, protected bike lanes, dedicated bus lanes and plant-filled medians.
