'Park' Hogs are Caught in a Snap

Memo to all city employees: New Yorkers are watching to make sure you don't park illegally - and if you do, they'll post a picture of your car on the Web.The creators of www.uncivilservants.org are asking anyone who sees a government-issued car or a car with an NYPD placard parked illegally to snap a photo and send it to them."Government permit abuse continues to be an epidemic in New York City, and now anyone with a camera and computer access can help stop this law-breaking," said Matthew Roth, an official with Transportation Alternatives, which created the site.The site will post pictures,Mayor Bloomberg has taken a tough stance against city employees who misuse city-owned vehicles.In 2004, Bloomberg stripped more than 250 city officials of the emergency lights and sirens in their official cars after Deputy Mayor Carol Robles-Roman was caught by a television news camera crew using her emergency lights and sirens just to beat traffic.
