Number Of Cyclists On The Rise In New York CityA new report card out Tuesday says more bike riders rode the New York City streets in 2004, on roads that were safer and more convenient. Results of the 8th Annual Transportation Alternatives Survey shows an estimated 113,000 people pedaled their way through the city on a daily basis last year. The report also shows cyclists benefited from initiatives cracking down on vehicles parked in bike lanes. However, despite safety efforts, the report says there are still cyclists being injured, and in some cases killed, on city streets.
