Riders Accuse NYPD Of Launching Crackdown On CyclistsAlthough the NYPD denies it, bicyclists around the city say they are the target of a police crackdown.The group Transportation Alternatives tells the New York Post it has been receiving complaints from cyclists for several weeks about being ticketed for minor infractions.The cyclists say they are being slapped with $60 fines for things like not having a reflector or some other piece of legally required equipment.A Police Department spokesman tells the paper no organized crackdown is in place.
