Letter to the Editor: Into the Snow (and Where Did the Cars Go?)To the Editor:Re "A Record Snow: 26.9 Inches Fall in New York City" (front page, Feb. 13):With a huge snowstorm bringing temporary relief from the everyday grind of the city's car traffic, New Yorkers enjoyed a day when they could actually hear themselves think.If city officials can't summon the political will to rein in the automobile in New York, perhaps we can justify spending millions of dollars blanketing our streets with man-made snow as part of a bid for the 2014 Winter Olympics.Jeff PrantBrooklyn, Feb. 13, 2006The writer is on the board of Transportation Alternatives.
