Government Parking Permit Abuse Campaign Shifts into High GearSubtitle
What: Campaign Q & A and photo shoot for uncivilservants.org
On Thursday, March 15th at 11 am, Transportation Alternatives and community groups from around the city will hold a brief Q & A regarding a new three-part campaign to combat permit parking abuse in New York City. After the Q & A, the group will head to areas with high rates of illegal permit parking to photograph permit abuse and post the photos online at uncivilservants.org.
The campaign:
"Government permit abuse continues to be an epidemic in New York City, and now anyone with a camera and computer access can help stop this law-breaking," said Matthew Roth, an official with Transportation Alternatives. "Every agency's leadership must take responsibility for those in their employ. Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Kelly, this problem is yours to solve and this campaign and website are encouragement for you to do so." "The Boerum Hill Association calls on the city and the NYPD to combat permit parking abuse,” said Sue Wolfe President of the Boerum Hill Association. “Boreum Hill and Atlantic Avenue's merchants and residents have suffered this disrespect to our neighborhood too long. It is time that the City enforces the law." View this press release in PDF format
