Quotes in the Media | Read the latest news on this issue ] In the "You Can Make a Difference" department, Brooklynites are being encouraged to write to Councilman James Gennaro, chair of the Environmental Protection Committee, to urge him to review the efficacy of car alarms--other than how efficient they are at waking people in the middle of the night--as New York City's 30-year-old Noise Code is being revised. (Brooklyn Councilman David Yassky is already a co-sponsor of a bill to ban them outright.) According to the citizens' group Transportation Alternatives, the car alarm issue is not one of Gennaro's priorities, since he has not heard many complaints about them. Say what?
