Museum worker Amy DeSalvo pulled up on Orchard St. in Manhattan at 8:50 a.m. yesterday, sitting triumphantly on her blue Trek 4100 bike - wearing a disheveled ponytail, rosy cheeks and a smile.

The 27-year-old biker from Boerum Hill, Brooklyn, proved how fast commuting on a bike from Brooklyn to Manhattan can be as she smoked two competitive co-workers in Bike Month's annual commuter race.

"I was like Lance Armstrong out there, ya know, steady and focused," joked the Tenement Museum's scheduling associate as she munched on her trophy, a bagel with everything on it.

"I wasn't going superfast, but I kept a good pace," DeSalvo added. "I just wanted to beat both of them."

The three Brooklyn residents all started at Grand Army Plaza at 8:25 a.m.

One took the subway, one hailed a taxi and DeSalvo rode her bike.

Steve Long, 37, a vice president at the museum from Park Slope, took two subway lines and arrived seven minutes later.

Anissa Graham,29, the museum's special events coordinator from Flatbush, finished last after taking a $13.30 cab ride that took 40 minutes.

"I started the trash talking yesterday, but I should have shut my mouth," said Graham, who earned only a plain bagel prize and the nickname 'lazy legs.' "Amy's secret must have been her red galoshes."

Long tried to use physical force to get around the long subway lines, and even ran the last leg of his route - still falling short.

"I was crammed in there with everyone and their umbrellas," said the vice president of collections and education. "I was trying to push mothers and young children out of the way."
