The city's Department of Transportation will consider a seasonal ban on cars in Central Park. That would be to the delight of the thousands of people who enjoy biking, jogging, walking, and skating along the park drives without having to dodge vehicles and suck up the exhaust. However, city officials warn that banning cars could make traffic and air quality worse in the neighborhoods and streets around and adjacent to the park.
