Queens Committee

The Transportation Alternatives Queens Volunteer Committee was founded in 2007 in response to dramatic changes on the streets of Queens. The goal of this volunteer effort is to seize on the recent surge in bicycling, development and new park space to improve bicycling, walking and public transit conditions in Queens. The Committee hosts numerous rides and walks each month, and is a presence at tabling, bike valet and other outreach opportunities around the borough.

Current areas of focus are developing neighborhood bike lane networks, establishing a protected bike lane and pedestrian safety measures along the entire length of Queens Boulevard, traffic-calming the dangerous intersection at Astoria Boulevard and 31st Street, and building Transportation Alternatives' membership in Queens. Contact Committee Chair David Dubovsky at David.Dubovsky [at] gmail [dot] com to learn more about the Committee, or visit the Google Group to read and join in the discussions, here: groups.google.com/group/tawq.
