Transportation Alternatives, New York's leading advocacy group for bicycling, walking and public transit issued a statement today in response to the City's PlaNYC update.
"New Yorkers have voted with their feet and shown their overwhelming demand for the safe public spaces and accessible transit options that make New York the world-class city we're proud to call home. Transportation Alternatives has worked tirelessly to translate that demand into effective policies like an affordable public bike sharing program, expanded playstreets and parking reform," said Paul Steely White, Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives. "We're pleased to see the City's commitment to those policies with the updated PlaNYC. Transportation Alternatives will continue to work with local communities to improve the scope and quality of transportation options for all New Yorkers."
