Did you know that if the MTA were to add bike and pedestrian access to the Verrazzano Bridge, cyclists and pedestrians would be able to ride around all the waterfronts that border New York Harbor without interruption? In order to celebrate this vision for what we call the Harbor Ring, we invite you to join us on an exploration of one of the route's most under-appreciated sections along the waterfront surrounding Staten Island's North Shore.
On September 23rd, you're invited to compete in the Harbor Hunt, a 2 wheeled scavenger hunt around the waterfront of Staten Island's North Shore! While searching for hidden objects, completing tasks and spotting the quirky odds and ends that our waterfront holds, you'll learn about both the forgotten history of the forgotten borough and the diverse culture it holds today. The ride will begin with a few words on the front lawn of the Alice Austen House Museum where riders will be welcomed warmly. It will end at 2pm where riders will reconvene for a post-ride celebration and awards ceremony at Flagship Brewery.
