Campaign History

5th and 6th avenues are too crowded and dangerous for the large number of people coming to the many shops and restaurants in the area. The City needs to open up safe space for people to move freely by expanding space for walkers and clearing lanes for bicycles and buses. The T.A. Manhattan Activist Committee is calling for the addition of protected bike lanes, open space for pedestrians and efficient bus lanes on 5th and 6th avenues, to make the streets safer for all New Yorkers.
