This year's contestants are: Cyclist: Rachel Myers, librarian at the Horace Mann School in the Bronx Straphanger: Dan Hendrick, New York League of Conservation Voters Taxi Rider: Willie Thompson, marketing specialist for a student travel non-profit New Yorkers have the longest commutes in the country--about 45 minutes. However, the average bicycle commute in New York City only takes 30 minutes. Cycling is booming in NYC, with more than 185,000 taking to their bikes every day.
