NYC Comptroller Brad Lander On What’s Next For The Dangerous Vehicle Abatement Program

Did you know NYC can get repeat reckless drivers' cars off our streets?

It's the Dangerous Vehicle Abatement Program — and it ends today.

Why? The City Council didn't renew it, removing a way to hold drivers accountable.

We met with New York City Comptroller Brad Lander on what went wrong & what's next.

Driving a car is not a fundamental right — and when our fellow New Yorkers prove they are dangerous drivers, we must hold them accountable.

This is a critical program for saving lives, but first it must be reauthorized, strengthened, and supported.

We’re grateful to Comptroller Lander for fighting for this program from the very beginning, and continuing to work to make sure it is as effective as it can be.
